Zeiss (aka Otto) was born on the 2nd of May 2018. He is a stunning palomino colt by the Swedish warmblood Zafferano out of our Westphalian mare Alizee. His breeding is impeccable! Taking a closer look at his pedigree reveals all the big names such as Donnerhall, Rubinstein, Damon Hill, Zack, Jazz, Rousseau, Ferro, Bernstein, Chagall, Solos Landtinus... All either in the Top 100 sires of the WBFSH dressage ranking, the German dressage index or competing at grand prix level. Even the thouroughbred lines he is carrying, adding the long legs and elegant looks, include an FEI dressage stallion "Glitter Please xx" who competed at Intermediare level and trained up to Grand Prix! Otto's ancestors not only excelled at dressage, but also proved themselves as showjumpers. Siblings of the granddam Deep Purple won over €20.000 in showjumping and produced an FEI CSI2* winning show jumper.
Every time we look at Otto we fall more and more in love. He is everything and more than we could have hoped for. Otto was very tall at birth and we are expecting him to reach a height of approximately 170cm when he matures. He has very long legs, an elegant head and a flawless conformation. On top of that he really knows how to use those long legs too! Although we were intending to keep only mares and came very close to selling Otto, we decided to keep him as a stallion prospect. We utterly fell in love with this truly special boy and went against our "mares only" policy. He just belongs to our family for the time being. He has been the most gentle person with our small children and has formed a special bond with our three year old son. Who knows, maybe one day the two of them will become a team. They already seem to share an equal interest in the toys that our son brings along to present to „his“ Otto.
Update 2020: Otto is now two years old and is maturing into a stunning youngster. As expected he is tall and we still expect him to reach approximately 17hh. He is still that gentle horse he was as a foal and we are ever so excited to see his future unfold. We repeated the cross and were blessed with a Cremello full sister in 2019.
